Whiz Bang Games develops and publishes Bedtime Buttons. This policy explains how information is handled in the current Android test build, version 1.0.0, and when you contact us about the game. It also explains the real-money purchases planned for launch. Whiz Bang Games is responsible for the support information it receives.
Your game progress and preferences are saved on your device. If you choose to send a bug report or feedback, your message and a small set of technical details are sent to our support service. Those are different activities, explained below.
1. Information on your device
Bedtime Buttons stores the information needed to remember your play locally. This includes game progress and statistics, Zzz balances, owned items and collections, Bedroom arrangements, your chosen profile name and avatar, and preferences such as language, sound, interface size and Help progress. The local profile is not an online account.
The game uses device information locally where needed to run, such as screen dimensions and the device language for the initial language choice. It does not upload your saved game or profile as part of ordinary play.
The current app does not access your contacts, precise location, photos, camera or microphone. It does not use an advertising ID or a persistent device identifier to track you. There is no Whiz Bang Games login, cloud-save service, player chat, friends list, social login or push-notification service in this release.
Your operating system may separately back up or transfer app files and preferences, depending on your device and backup settings. This is not a Whiz Bang Games cloud save. We do not operate or control your Android or Google account backup.
2. Support reports and messages
Sending a report is optional. When you use Report a Bug or Send Feedback and press Send, the app sends:
- The message you write, the report type and category, and its subject.
- The app version, platform, device model and screen resolution.
- The current screen or context and game mode.
- A randomly generated report ID used to acknowledge the submission and avoid duplicate delivery when you retry. This identifies the report, not your device or player profile.
The app does not automatically attach your profile name, saved game, purchase history, screenshots, private logs, crash dumps or account details. Please do not include passwords, payment-card information or other sensitive information in your message.
Reports travel over HTTPS to a support endpoint hosted using Google Apps Script, which forwards them to our support mailbox in Gmail. Google processes the request and email to provide these services. Like other internet services, Google may process network information such as your IP address and service logs under its own policies; these are not extra fields added to the report by the game.
The in-game form does not automatically provide your email address. If you email us directly, we receive your email address, message, any attachments you choose to send and the associated email details. A reply to an in-game report is only possible if you choose to provide a way to contact you.
Copy Report copies the report to your device’s clipboard. Copying alone does not submit it to us. If you paste it into another app or service, that service’s privacy practices apply. An unsent in-game draft is not retained after the app is restarted.
3. Real-money purchases and other services
Advertising and analytics: this release has no active advertising provider and does not serve third-party ads. It has no enabled gameplay-analytics or automatic in-app crash-reporting service. The game is built with Unity and contains Unity runtime and service-support components, but Unity Analytics, Ads, Purchasing, Crash Reporting and Performance Reporting are disabled in the release configuration.
Real-money purchases planned for launch
Bedtime Buttons is planned to offer optional real-money purchases through Google Play at launch. These are separate from spending earned Zzz. In the current test build, Google Play Billing is not yet enabled and the working in-game Store uses earned Zzz.
When a Google Play purchase is available and you choose to buy, Google handles checkout and payment through your Google account and chosen payment method. Payment credentials are entered into Google’s payment service, not the game’s support form. Google’s Payments Privacy Notice (opens in a new tab) explains its handling of payment and transaction information.
Purchase confirmation is different from payment-card information. Google Play can return purchase details such as the product ID, purchase status, purchase time, order ID and a purchase token. The planned purpose of purchase verification is to confirm payment, grant the correct content, recognise eligible previous purchases, and handle cancellations, refunds or purchase problems. Recognising a purchase does not restore an entire saved game.
The final billing integration will determine which purchase details the game and any verification service actually receive and retain. Before paid purchases are enabled, we will update this policy to identify that processing, any additional service provider, and the applicable purchase-record retention. This policy does not claim an unimplemented billing backend is already collecting information.
For a purchase-related support request, you may choose to provide the product name, approximate purchase date and Google Play order ID so the transaction can be identified. Do not send a full payment-card number, security code or Google password. Google Play’s refund information (opens in a new tab) explains its refund process; eligibility depends on the purchase, circumstances and applicable law.
Platform services
Platform services: Google Play and Android may independently process information when you use the store, download or update the app, use device backup, or share usage and diagnostics with Google. Google Play may make stability reports, such as crash and app-not-responding information, available to developers through Android vitals. These platform activities are separate from the game’s optional support form and disabled in-app crash-reporting services.
Your relationship with Google, including any transactions you make with its platform, is governed by Google’s terms and Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab). We will update this policy before introducing new data-handling features or providers that require a different explanation.
4. How information is used and shared
Local game information is used to operate the game and remember your progress and choices. We use support information to understand your report, investigate technical problems, consider feedback, respond where contact details are available, and handle privacy requests. Report receipt records and submission limits help prevent duplicate messages and protect the support service from misuse.
Google’s Apps Script and Gmail services process support information as described above. Information may also need to be disclosed where a valid legal obligation requires it. The current app contains no advertising-data sale, cross-app tracking or marketing-list integration.
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, our basis for handling requested support and related service-security information is our legitimate interest in helping players and maintaining a reliable game and support service. Where we must keep or disclose information to comply with the law, the basis is that legal obligation. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests as explained below.
5. How long information is kept
Local game information: saves and preferences remain on your device until removed, for example by clearing the app’s storage. Copies may separately remain in backups controlled by you or your operating-system provider.
Support correspondence: we delete resolved correspondence within 12 months of the last contact, or sooner when a valid deletion request applies. Unresolved matters may need to be retained while they are being handled. If the law requires particular information to be retained longer, we keep only what is needed for that requirement. Removing the game does not delete correspondence already sent to us.
Submission receipts: the support relay keeps a report ID, message fingerprint, time and delivery state to handle retries safely. These receipt records do not contain the message text or diagnostic values. Records older than seven days become eligible for cleanup; cleanup runs when the service handles subsequent reports, so deletion is not guaranteed at exactly seven days.
Google controls the retention of its own service logs and provider-managed backup copies. Our correspondence policy does not promise immediate removal from every provider backup.
Real-money purchase records: Google keeps its own transaction records under its payment and legal requirements. Deleting a support email or clearing local game storage does not delete Google’s transaction history. The 12-month correspondence rule applies to purchase-support messages, not automatically to payment records. Any records retained by us for the planned billing integration will be covered by the purchase-processing update described above.
6. Your choices and privacy rights
You can play without sending a support report. You can review your report before sending, omit personal details from the message, and manage device backup and platform diagnostic sharing through the relevant device or Google settings.
To delete local saves and preferences, use Android’s app-storage controls. Clearing app storage also removes your local progress and owned-item records. We do not have a central game account from which to restore them. Separately review your backup settings if you want to remove backup copies or prevent restoration.
Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may have rights to:
- Ask for access to personal information we hold about you and correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion or restriction of its use.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Receive a portable copy where the legal conditions for portability apply.
- Complain to your local data-protection authority.
Email playwhizbang@gmail.com with your request. Include only enough information to locate the correspondence, such as its approximate date or report ID. We may need proportionate information to verify that a request concerns your data. You do not need to create an account.
We respond within the applicable legal deadline, normally one month under GDPR. If a lawful extension is necessary, we will explain it within the initial deadline. Rights are subject to applicable exceptions; if we cannot fulfil a request in full, we will explain why.
7. Security and international processing
The in-game support form uses HTTPS to protect report transmission. Local saves use the app’s device storage; the game does not add its own encryption to save files. No internet service or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Google operates services internationally, so support reports, emails and related service information may be processed outside your country. This policy does not promise storage exclusively in a particular country or region. Google’s privacy information explains its international processing. You can contact us with questions about the providers involved in your support request.
8. Children’s privacy
The current game has no online player accounts, public profiles or in-game chat. Its optional support form is not a request for a child’s personal details. Parents and guardians should help children avoid including personal information in support messages.
If you believe a child has supplied personal information to us and you want it removed, contact us using the address below. We will assess and handle the request under the applicable privacy rules. The game’s store content rating does not change how information is handled under this policy.
9. External links and policy changes
Links to Google Play, Facebook or other external services take you to services with their own privacy policies. The Bedtime Buttons website’s Facebook link is an ordinary link, not an embedded Facebook feed or tracking pixel. Merely reading this policy does not submit an in-game support report.
We may update this policy when the game, our support practices or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be available at this page with an updated date. Where a change requires additional notice or permission, we will provide that before the new practice takes effect.
